INTERNATIONAL INTERCHANGE / PPGSD INTERNATIONALIZATION PROJECT:

The internationalization of the Graduate Program in Health and Development in the Central-west Region (PPGSD) has been obtained by the joint effort of researchers from the program and foreign institutions. These partnerships are presented as follows:

 

2014 – The project “Strategy for internationalization of the Graduate Program in Health and Development in the Central-West Region” was granted by FUNDECT / CAPES n ° 44/2014-PAPOS-MS (R$ 130,000.00). The main objective was to strengthen exchanges between the PPGSD and international and national institutions for the following two years, 2015 and 2016. Here are some of the results:

·         Dr. Prof. Paulo de Tarso Guerrero Müller, professor of PPGSD, established a partnership with two renowned research laboratories on Exercise Clinical Physiology: LACEP (Laboratory of Clinical Exercise Physiology) of  Dr. Neder at Kingston General Hospital (Canada) and Dr. Ralf Ewert in the city of Greifswald, Germany. The partnership resulted in the following publications:

Also in 2014 – PH.D. student Priscila de Matos Candido started a one year long PH.D. Sandwich Exchange with a CAPES / PDSE scholarship – at the Université de Rennes in France under the supervision of Dr Georges Jacques Baffet.  2015 – The national partnership between Dr. Prof. Almir Martins from the Nucleus of Physiology and Functional Genomics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), which is also a collaborator professor in the PPGSD, and Dr. Prof. Durval Baptista Palhares, permanent professor in the PPGSD, also resulted in important international partnerships. One of these is with the University of Akron-USA, where one of the researchers is Dr. Amy Milsted. In 2015, she came to Campo Grande_MS, where she visited the laboratories of the PPGSD, had meetings with other researchers presented lectures.Also in 2015, the Ph.D. students Débora Nascimento and Marilene Palhares went to the Walsh University – USA, where they performed part of their study in the laboratory of Dr. Adam Underwood at the Division of Mathematics and Sciences – (https://www.walsh.edu/adam-underwood). Other researchers also participated of the studies, resulting in the following papers:

 2016 – PH.D. student Lilian Assunção Felippe made her PH.D. Sandwich Exchange in Portugal, with a CAPES / PDSE scholarship. The above partnerships continued their activities during the years of 2017 and 2018.  We can say these partnerships and PH.D. Sandwich Exchange Programs were begin of the internationalization in the PPGSD.
